Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Great Rift Valley & Evening Game Drive

• Pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA in the morning.
• Begin your scenic drive toward the Masai Mara, passing through the Great Rift Valley with a stop at the viewpoint for photos and sweeping views.
• Continue through Narok town and the countryside, arriving at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch or early afternoon check-in.
• After some time to relax, head out for your first evening game drive in the Masai Mara.
• Look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, and other wildlife as the golden evening light settles over the plains.
• Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara – Full-Day Game Drive Across the Mara Plains

• After breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara.
• Explore the open savannahs, riverine forests, and wildlife-rich plains that make the Mara Kenya’s most famous safari destination.
• Your guide will search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, and other plains game.
• Depending on wildlife movement and season, you may explore areas toward the Mara River, the greater Mara plains, or productive big-cat territories.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your afternoon game drive.
• Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Big Cats, Scenic Plains & Optional Maasai Village Visit

• Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for another exciting day of game viewing.
• This extra day gives you better chances of special sightings, especially lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as the Mara is known for excellent big-cat activity in certain areas.
• Your guide may explore different sections of the reserve depending on recent sightings, animal movement, and weather conditions.
• Look out for predators resting after a hunt, elephants moving across the plains, giraffes browsing near acacia trees, and large herds grazing across the savannah.
• You may return to camp for lunch or enjoy another picnic lunch in the reserve, depending on the day’s plan.
• In the afternoon, continue with a game drive or choose an optional Maasai village visit to learn about Maasai culture, homes, beadwork, dances, and traditional way of life.
• Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha – Scenic Drive & Lakeside Relaxation

• After breakfast, check out and depart the Masai Mara for Lake Naivasha.

• Arrive at Lake Naivasha in the afternoon and check into your lakeside lodge.
• Spend the rest of the day relaxing in the cool Naivasha atmosphere, with views of acacia trees, birdlife, and the peaceful lake environment.
• You may choose an optional boat ride to see hippos and water birds, or simply unwind at the lodge after your Mara safari adventure.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Nairobi – Optional Crescent Island & Return

• This is a beautiful way to end the safari with a slower, close-to-nature experience on foot.
• After the activity, check out and begin your drive back to Nairobi.
