Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Great Rift Valley & Evening Game Drive

• Pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA in the morning.
• Begin your scenic drive toward the Masai Mara, passing through the Great Rift Valley with a stop at the viewpoint for photos and breathtaking views.
• Continue through the countryside, arriving at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch or early afternoon check-in.
• After some time to relax, head out for your first evening game drive in the Masai Mara.
• Look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, and other wildlife as the golden light settles over the plains.
• Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara – Full-Day Game Drive Across the Mara Plains

• After breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara.
• Explore the open savannahs, riverine forests, and wildlife-rich plains that make the Mara one of Africa’s best safari destinations.
• Your guide will search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, and large herds of zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes.
• Depending on wildlife movement and the season, you may explore areas such as the greater Mara plains, river sections, or routes toward the Mara River.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your afternoon game drive.
• Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Big Cats, Scenic Plains & Optional Maasai Village Visit

• Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for another exciting day of game viewing.
• This extra day gives you better chances of special sightings, especially big cats, as the Mara is known for its high lion, cheetah, and leopard activity in certain areas.
• Your guide may explore different sections of the reserve depending on recent sightings, animal movement, and weather conditions.
• Look out for predators resting after a hunt, elephants moving across the plains, giraffes feeding near acacia trees, and hyenas becoming active toward evening.
• You may return to camp for lunch or enjoy another picnic lunch in the reserve, depending on your safari plan.
• In the afternoon, continue with a game drive or choose an optional Maasai village visit to learn about Maasai culture, homes, beadwork, dances, and traditional way of life.
• Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Masai Mara to Nairobi – Final Morning & Return Drive

• After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi.
• Depending on your lodge location and departure time, you may enjoy a short final game drive as you leave the Masai Mara.
• Drive back through Narok and the Great Rift Valley, with comfort stops along the way.
• Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon or early evening for drop-off at your hotel or JKIA.
